Over the past 5 years, Tripod has focused our programme work on directly supporting the migrant and climate justice movements in Scotland. This strategic phase, and its programmes, are coming to an end and we’re looking to change our focus and taking our learnings forward in new ways.
Over the past year, we’ve crafted a new strategy: asking ourselves and others where Tripod is best placed to intervene in ways that contribute to movements for liberation and justice. We see our role as creating conditions for increased strategic collaboration within and across movements. By 2030, we’ll see a more vibrant, diverse and intersectional social justice movement in Scotland that has a shared strategic vision and works together in deeper relationship.
This means supporting a shift away from campaigns on single-issue topics, towards shared root causes, which we believe can create more compelling and effective strategies for building powerful movements. Our two main strands of work will be:
1) increasing the capacity within and across groups to better navigate conflict.
2) facilitation and training for collaborative movement-building.
We see these as two key leverage points that Tripod is well-placed to support with, fitting with our broader theory of change.
If you also are experimenting with different ways to do conflict, collaborating more deeply at strategic intersections, or if you see a clear connection with what we’re doing in the coming years, we want to hear from you!
In particular we’re on the lookout for:
