Supporting the climate justice movement

Never has the need to take real and fast action to address the spiralling climate chaos been bigger, and never have there been more folks mobilising and organising for climate justice as today.

Tripod will be focusing a bigger part of our work on strengthening and supporting the climate justice movement in Scotland. To steer the direction of our work, we set up a survey to gather feedback from key groups and organisations on how we can support you to make your campaigns more effective and sustainable.

The deadline is the 12th of August and we’d very much appreciate your input. We’re offering the chance to win one of two free spaces on our flagship Running Great Workshops training this Autumn (or any of our other up-coming open workshops).

It would be great if you can share this survey with others in your network too.

Up-coming climate justice-related events

Members of Tripod will be at the Power Beyond Borders camp this weekend, organised by Reclaim the Power and the new World Without Borders coalition to join the dots between climate and migrant justice. We’ll be taking the bus down with Climate Action Scotland this evening!

We’ll also take part in the the Friends of the Earth Summer Weekender on 16-18 August. There are still some tickets available if you’re quick. We’re excited that members of our Pool of Trainers will be running sessions on disability and environmental justice, sustainable activism and climate justice. On the Sunday afternoon we’re also co-hosting a climate movement strategy session.

On the 20th of September, the UK Student Climate Network, the Scottish Youth Climate Strike and others have called on adults to join them in the biggest Climate Strike so far as part of a global school students strike, kicking off a week of action. They need all hands on deck to make this happen, so do get involved. There’s a UK-wide Facebook event as well as one for the Glasgow strike, with more local events to follow.

Here’s to a Summer and Autumn of climate action!
